Learn the traditional healing art of the Thai Herbal Poultice (Luk Pra Kob). In Thai, Luk Pra Kob literally translates as “pressing herbal sphere” or herbal ball. It's also commonly referred to as an herbal compress, bundle or poultice. It dates back to 14th Century Thailand and remains an integral part of Traditional Thai Medicine (TTM) today. It's a deep heat herbal muscle treatment. The body absorbs the heat along with the organic herbs to help ease muscle aches & pains, alleviate stiff joints, stimulate circulation, increase lymphatic drainage, detoxify & release stagnant energy in the body.

1. Thai Herbal Poultice

A warm herbal compress filled with organic Thai herbs is steamed and applied directly to the body with a variety of specialized techniques. The heat, combined with the herbs, is absorbed by the body and helps reduce aches & pains, increase lymphatic drainage and condition the skin.

2. Royal Thai Sên Points

Similar to acupressure or trigger point therapy in which pressure is applied to specific Sên Points to release blocked energy and direct healing to areas of discomfort, pain or illness.

3. Thai Stretching

A series of Thai stretches are infused throughout for increased flexibility and range of motion.They are performed on the table and combined with both the Herbal Poultice and Aromatherapy Massage.

4. Aromatherapy Massage

A Thai aromatherapy oil, complementary to the herbal poultice blend, is applied following specific Sên Meridians to increase the flow of energy in the body as well as soothe nervous tension, relax cramped muscles, reduce fluid retention and cater to the precise needs of each client.

We get you started the right way by providing a variety of high-quality Thai herbal poultice blends and body oils that allow you to experience the benefits of different Thai herbs during your hands-on practice.

Professional Instruction

Instruction includes a detailed live demonstration plus an afternoon of hands-on practice to allow each attendee to give and receive the full massage treatment with guidance from your Educator.

Online Review

You will be provided 5-week access to our Thai Herbal Poultice Online Training program for review. No homework assignments or videos will need to be submitted, or graded. 

Community Support

Once certified, you're able to join our community of like-minded Massage Therapists & Bodyworkers to continue your learning experience through video sharing, discussion and updates. 

Bonus Instruction

Instruction and hands-on practice includes an introduction to our Cranial Herbal Poultice Head & Neck Recovery Massage. You will be guided through a series on the shoulders, neck, face and crown. 

Cross-Cultural Connection

As part of our dedication to maintaining the traditions of Thailand, we've included a series of interviews with Indigenous Therapists and Instructors from South East Asia who share their voice, experience and wisdom to help you deepen your practice and connection with the use of the herbal poultice as a Thai healing tradition.

A percentage of each monthly course is given back to the Thai community and those who have shared their voices with us. We continue to work with them to maintain the integrity of Traditional Thai Medicine and cultural practices.

Important note
Our 1.5-day workshops include instruction and hands-on practice using our Cranial Herbal Poultice, which focuses attention on areas where stress manifests most: the back, neck, shoulders, face and crown.

It's intended for Massage Therapists and is not the same protocol as our Thai Herbal Poultice Facial Massage, which is part of our 3-day Gua Sha Facial Fusion workshops.

Stephanie has been a licensed massage therapist in Florida since 1994 and originally studied and began practicing traditional Thai Massage in 2006. In 2012, she furthered her studies at Baan Hom Samunphrai in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she earned a Certificate in Traditional Thai Massage from the Thai Ministry of Education.

Formerly Co-Director and Instructor at the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy, she taught Massage, Anatomy & Physiology, Body Awareness and Personal Growth. She continues to share her passion for Thai Massage as a National Spa Educator for Cecily Braden Spa & Wellness, developing continuing-education programs and providing instruction throughout the USA and Internationally. Learn more...

Cecily J. Braden, the founder of Cecily Braden Spa & Wellness, has been a recognized leader and innovator in the field of holistic skincare therapy and training for more than 26 years. A licensed esthetician and professional educator, she has spent her career studying, developing and teaching effective global spa therapies, including her popular Gua Sha Facial Fusion and Thai Herbal Poultice Facial Massage therapies. 

Long recognized for the effectiveness of her teaching methods and the comprehensiveness of her courses, Cecily was recently named American Spa Magazine’s “Educator and Trainer of the Year” and one of Dermascope Magazine’s Top 45 Estheticians in the U.S.
Kristin Shaw

Since 1994, Kristin’s massage career has taken her from chiropractor offices and gyms to traveling worldwide with touring musicians as well as working in some of the most prestigious hotel spas in NYC.

She later gained invaluable experience as a Corporate Spa Director where she developed spas from the ground up, led the creative direction, and provided training for spa teams.
